leather scribe, Merlin stick, forged hair pin

This leather scribe, or marlin stick, or hair pin, to be honest there are many other uses for this little item. It's forged by me, Kevin, in my little shop in Milverton, ON. This starts out as a 8 inch long piece on 1/4 inch round steel. It is heated up and both ends are tapered. One end is then looped to make the "shepherd's crook". A simple little twist is added and then its squared off the give it my personal touch. Its buffed with a wire wheel and then lightly coated with bees was to help prevent rusting.
